This Autumn Half-Term The Sharks, working with Peabody Trust are delivering FEE kayaking and canoeing sessions this half-term and they are open to everyone, families are particularly welcome.
New Series, New paddlers, same fun The new Barrow Series has started and The Sharks had a team there on what was not the best racing conditions thanks to Storm Amy! Very strong winds made conditions difficult so full credit to the paddlers for getting down the 3.5k course.
October Shepperton Results Congratulations to Ivijah Campbell-Bryan and Semir Ahmed on gaining promotion in canoe slalom to Divisions 2 and 1 respectively. Liah Boyle also took a third place in the women’s event and Rick Moore a third in the Veterans K1 Men.
Continuing or Sprint Development Our penultimate free Harlesden Summer Sprints competition of 2025, next and final race is on Wednesday October 15th.
The Charity Race of the year The second Great Harlesden Charity Canoe Race took part on Wednesday 24th September, raising money for local charities, the Brent Food Bank and Queens Park Rangers Community Trust. Both these charities support local people.
Round three Our penultimate free Southall Summer Sprints competition of 2025, next and final race is on Thursday October 16th.
A weekend of fun and paddling The Sharks raced at the Canoe Slalom Interclubs event at Cardington for the first time and had a great time, as well as racing, the event has a social side to bring clubs and paddlers together.
Help us raise money for charity The Great Harlesden Charity Canoe Race is back, taking place on Wednesday September 24th 2025, at 11am. We are asking for corporate teams to get in touch and race.
The first race at Thamesmead Yes, on September 4th The Sharks hosted the first race at Thamesmead and it was a ranking Wild Water race, of about 400 metres.
Saturday October 18th This is an event for everyone, it will be a great day with some great opportunities to paddle on something different.
Division 2 & 3 Slalom, 4th & 5th The October Shepperton Slalom takes place on October 4th and 5th weekend. A chance to finalise those promotions, or to get some points on the board, but more importantly have some fun.
Starts on October 4th The Legendary Barrow Wild Water Race series starts on Saturday October 4th and continues once a moth through to March 2026.
Plenty of races to get involved with The Sharks have targeted a number of races for us to get involved with some are on our own home territory, other involve day trips or overnight stays. Get involved, have fun and see how far you can go.
Wow, What a month! A scorcher, that was for sure and Britain basked in another heatwave, which as nice and it might be, does affect canoeing as it impacts on water levels.
Slalom Results Just a small team at the August Division 2,3, and 4 slalom at Cardington this year.
A new event with a difference A small group of Shark Paddlers tried out an event with a difference, it was more about time on the water and learning new skills, in preparation for competition, although there were some non-ranking races to help.
3.5 K Marathons at Harlesden We have introduced a new series of Marathons, to help support paddlers wanting to race this discipline at Regional Hasler Events.
4th Wednesday of the Month The Harlesden Sprint Nights kicked off in August 2025, with some 200m and 500m races, they are free to enter and will run on September 24th and October 15th (due to daylight at the end of the month).
Monthly Sprint Times Holiday time always causes a drop in numbers for our August event, but some very good paddling from those who did turn up, well done and keep going.
Who is coming to the great Slalom? Langham Farm Slalom takes place on the weekend of Saturday 20th September and Sunday 21st. It is a ranking Division 3 slalom and a Division 4 Slalom. You can enter here.
Sharks in Wales A small team of Shark paddlers went west to Wales to enjoy a weekend at Llandysul River Festival, which included a Division 2, 3 and 4 slalom.
A stunning Month July 2025 proved to be an amazing month for The Sharks as we basked in a heatwave or two, brining paddler son to the water.
What an event! Congratulations to all those who took part in our first Southall Sprint Regatta, we will be hosting another one on Thursday August 21st and a grand finale on Thursday 18th September.

New Paddlers Racing Marathon We had four paddlers taking part in the Geoff Saunders race at Oxford Falcon’s Hassler Marathon, three completely new to Marathon.
Next Race October 16th 2025 Every third Thursday during the Summer months, last race of the season is on Thursday 16th October. A very simple format including 200m, 500m and 1,000m. And did we mention; its is free to enter.
A great weekend to be on the Water One of the hottest weekends of the year and what better way to spend it than being on the water (well maybe in it), and that is what a team of Shark paddlers did!
Sunday 22nd June Who wants to race on Sunday, 22nd June, distances from 2 miles for juniors and longer for others; 4 miles up to 12 miles.
Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th Remember the fun of the Bank Holiday weekend at Shepperton? Well this time we can enjoy all the fun of Shepperton Slalom Canoe Club‘s own event. Which means less work for our staff and more time and more fun on the water.
Saturday 28th & Sunday 29th A weekend of slalom paddling at Cardington, just an hour away from Harefield, this Division 2, 3 and 4 event is suitable for all paddlers. So book the weekend off and we can have a Club weekend of fun and paddling. There is camping on site.

WWR Championship Results. The Sharks are officially the Wild Water racing Champions of London after sweeping up several top places in the recent London Regional WWR Championships held at Shepperton over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
Slalom and Wild Water racing event Just a small team at this year’s may Langham Farm event, which was run as a more traditional slalom with team events on Saturday and individual events on Sunday. With the addition of a Wild Water Race on Saturday evening.

Tuesdays and Thursdays The Sharks have arrived in Thamesmead and we are starting regular evening sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays

And Beyond Building on the work of past years, we have great plans for 2025, to grow our project at Harlesden and create a first class canoe club for a first class town.
