Let the fun begin
Sessions start at 11am, 11:45am, 12:30pm, and 1:15pm, please arrive 15 minutes before you session so we can get you ready to start on time.
These sessions are suitable for all ages and all abilities, we provide all the equipment and each session is 40 minutes, please arrive 15 minutes early, so we can show you what you need to know and how to paddle the boats.
You will be provided with a Buoyancy Aid, which must be worn whilst on the water. The boats are very stable, unlikely to capsize and you sit on them and not in them. They are easy to control and steer.
You will get wet, so please do bring a change of clothes, we do have changing rooms and showers on site.

We have been able to purchase the new kayaks, thanks to a grant from Sport England’s Movement Fund.
We will be delivering affordable session for the whole community thanks to support from Active Thames (part of the Port of London Authority).
Lead Coach at Thamesmead, Giles Brunning, said: “these boats are fantastic for people with no experience, who want to come down to the lake and have fun with friends and family. The boats are very stable, unlikely to capsize and you sit on them and not in them. They are easy to control and steer, ideal for just turning up and having a go.”
There is an option of singles or double, so you can go for a paddle together on tandem, or you can paddle side by side. Your choice. Everybody will need to wear a buoyancy aid, which will be provided, as we have received funding to promote this project, we will keep cost to just £6 per person.
The sessions will take place on Southmere Lake at The Sharks Water Sports Centre, 4 Bazalgette Way, SE2 9TX.
