A weekend of paddling in Somerset
The site is isolated and a really great place to spend a weekend for some paddling fun for the whole family. We will be camping from Friday night, you can come down early Saturday if you prefer. Link for Google Maps is here. There is also space for camper vans and trailer tents. If you are not sure about camping or want to borrow a tent, we maybe able to help, talk to us at session.

Saturday 16th
Starts with practice on the river, which provides a nice flowing stream ideal for entry level paddlers wanting to take up Slalom Canoeing or Wild Water Racing. There will be coached sessions available in both disciplines and you can do both.
In the afternoon there will be a team event, which is a fun way to learn about slalom paddling and working as a team.
Following the Slalom Team Event will be a regional Wild Water Race, where you can do as many runs as you want, race in doubles with friends, or even somebody you have never met before, just have fun. There will be K1s, C1s, and C2s available to use.
Then in the evening we can gather round and enjoy some community time sharing stories, making plans and just relaxing with each other.
Sunday 17th
Will be individual slalom day, you will use all the skills you honed on Saturday to race the slalom, you will have two runs and your best run counts. There will be prize giving at the end of the event.
To enter the event online click here, if you are new to the sport and need help with the entry get in contact; speak to coaches at one of our sessions or call/text 07951 770241, you can also email us: slalom@thesharks.org.uk.
Our hosts at Langham Farm
Frome Canoe Club, host Langham Farm Slalom and Wild Water Race, twice a year, and they do a stunningly good job. They provide excellent catering (with Vegan Options) and run a very friendly event which helps people into the sport at entry level, whilst also ensuring it is a fair competition. Thank you.
