Let’s Make a Splash at Stone

Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th March 2022

The 2022 ranking slalom season kicks of in March and we are going to Stone for the weekend of Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th March.

There are two events on one on Saturday and another on Sunday, you can enter either of both (just like the slalom we ran at Harefield).

To enter the event please click here: if you are ranked in division 3 (or have entered a division 4 slalom before), your details will be on the system. If this is your first time, you need to fill in your personal details first, the system will prompt you. If you need any help speak to Rick or Arron at one of our sessions, email us at: slalom@thesharks.org.uk or give Neal a call on 07951 770241.

Stone is 150 miles from West London a drive of about 2.5 hours, post code is ST15 8Qw for SatNav users. The site has excellent facilities, changing rooms, showers and refreshments etc.

If you are ranked in Division 3, then you need to apply for your competition bib. The application process is moving on line and is not yet available, but details will appear on the Canoe Slalom Website soon. Again, please do ask for advice from our coaches at our regular Sunday sessions.

Our Division 3 ranked paddlers are: Ally Judge, Mel Moore, Gavriel Moussaioff, Joe Pawley, David Spikings (already entered), John William-Kerslake.

We also have a number of current Division 4 paddlers who raced last season and this would be an ideal event for you: Emily Potts, Tasmeen Khatra, Aron Moussaioff, Matteo Lemon, Kurt White, Dylan West, Aditya Ravichander, and Jim West.

There are some opportunities to do a couple of warm up events if people are interested as Stafford and Stone Canoe Club are organising some mini-slaloms at Stone.

There are also a number of paddlers at Harefield who have yet to race, but are defiantly good enough to enjoy a trip to Stone, so whom have been to sessions last year and some of you who have started during the Winter. If you want to know more or want some advice, talk to Rick or email him at:
slalom@thesharks.org.uk.

This will be a brilliant fun event, and let’s face it after the past couple of years, we all deserve some fun and teh more Sharks there are there the more fun it will be. Take a look at our last visit there.

If you have previously competed in slalom canoeing and want to get back involved, why not give us a call on 07951 770241, or email slalom@thesharks.org.uk. If you are new to canoeing or have never sat in a boat before, why not take up this exciting, fun sport? During the Winter moths we meet at Harefield every Sunday morning at 10:30am. We provide all the kit, so not expensive to get involved, it is a sport suitable for all.
