How to Roll a Slalom Boat
Pool Rolling Sessions We have recently had some of our paddlers successfully learning to roll at our pool sessions at Horsenden School Pool. Well done to those who have, probably shouldn’t say look forward to seeing you use these newly acquired skills for real.
Barrow Results January ’24
First race of the year Just one Shark paddler at the January Barrow race, which was a touch on the cold side. With teh canal frozen, paddlers had to carry the boats to the start.

Saturday 3rd February The Southampton Wild Water Race is back on the calendar for 2024, it is a sprint event with good facilities, a new site and a new challenge, who is up for this? Suitable for WWR boats and slalom boats.
January Barrow Race
Saturday 20th January Keep the day free for racing at Barrow-on-Soar, lets get our biggest race team ever there for a fund day out. This race is suitable for anybody who can paddle 3k, in any boat.

WWR 2023 Final Positions
Rankings for 2023 Shark Paddlers The last race of 2023, as happened and therefore we know teh final rankings of our paddlers. Well done to everyone who took part, some very impressive results, for paddlers who have not been racing for long, lets make 2024 even better.
Barrow Results December ’23
Wild Water Racing on the Soar Just two paddlers this time out, which is a shame as the River was at a very good level for racing, but the time of year does make things difficult, hopefully we will have a few more on January 20th.

Harlesden Winter Sessions
Saturday Morning 10:30am Saturday race boat sessions at Harlesden Canal side take place on Saturday morning at 10am. Please check session is running before attending – as we sometimes cancel to attend events.
Barrow Race December 16th
Who wants some fun on Saturday 16th? Yes, we are going back to the Barrow-on-Soar race on Saturday December 16th, why don’t you come and join us? Entries cost just £5, open to all, in the boat of your choice, it is 3k, under half-an-hour, and it is fun, fun, fun!

Barrow Results – Oct ’23
Wild Water Racing is back After a Summer hiatus, we were back racing at the Barrow on Saturday, picking up exactly where we left off. High water levels meaning a different course and the paddlers racing were Liah Boyle and Neal Underwood.
Usk WWR Race 2023
Weekend 21st & 22nd October The Usk Wild Water Race is a national race, on a really nice river in South Wales. The River Usk is about 160 miles drive, taking about three hours, a great weekend event.
Barrow Race October ’23
Saturday 14th October Who is racing on Saturday? just £5 to enter, lots of fun, nice 3k race and coffee afterwards.
Last Friday of the Month Working with our partners at Horsenden Primary School, we are now able to offer free pool sessions on the last Friday of each month (not December), from 7pm till 8:15pm, we will use these sessions for two main purposes, safety work and rolling practice.

Final Barrow Race of the Series Liah Boyle and Neal Underwood, were there on a very strange day, the sun was out, there was snow in the fields and the river was in flood!
Wild Water Rankings 2022
Final Rankings for Shark Paddlers 2022, was the year we returned to Wild Water Racing and had eight paddlers racing for us, 5 of whom were completely new to the discipline.
Barrow February 23
Another Fine Race Just two Shark paddlers at this race, but what great results they had. Liah Boyle winning the under 16s and Neal Underwood winning the over 60s!
Melksham WWR – February 23
Super Sharks! A great day of racing and fun at the Melksham Wild Water Race, just four paddlers, but, what a four the were!
Melksham Avon WWR
Saturday 4th February Anybody interested in trying a different venue? This race is similar to the Barrow-Upon-Soar race, can be raced in Wild Water Racing boats or Slalom boats.
First Race of the Year
Wet, but not cold or Miserable! A very small team of three people, Jasmin, Liah, and Neal made it to a very wet Barrow-Upon-Soar, for the first Wild Water Race of 2023. It was very wet, the River was very high and fast, but as always a great day out.
January Barrow Race
Saturday 14th January 2023 Who is up for the first Wild Water Race of 2023? We are going to Barrow-Upon- Soar, just outside Loughborough. It is suitable for anyone who can paddle 3k.
December – Barrow – 2022
New WWR paddlers The Sharks were back racing at the Barrow-upon-Soar race in December and added another three paddlers to our team. Another fun day out, looking forward to January’s race.
Wild Water Racing A small team traveled to the Barrow-upon-Soar Race on Saturday, the first time The Sharks have raced Wild Water for a while, too long. Hopefully this marks the beginning of our return and again become one of the Country’s top clubs.
Barrow River Races 22/23
Entry Level Wild Water Races The Barrow-upon-Soar Wild Water Race serries is an ideal place to start River Racing, there are monthly races through the winter of about 3k (1.8miles), there are no rocks, just a twisty flowing stream.
Fourth Wild Water Race
Sharks in Scotland Grant Underwood is back racing Wild Water and was in action at the Fourth Wild Water Race on the River at Stirling.
Southampton Wild Water Race
Saturday 12th February A sprint Wild Water Race, suitable for novices. You do two runs of the course and your fastest run counts.
Barrow Wild Water Races
Saturdays Jan 15th, Feb 5th, & Mar 5th Why not have a fun day out in Barrow on Soar, near Loughborough, paddle a different river, get some new experience? Suitable for all standards and all boats.

Return to Wild Water Racing
Wild Water Racing The Sharks are planning to restart Wild Water Racing Session at Harefield in January on Monday evenings at 6pm, meeting at Tory Lake.
Training Camp Report We held a training camp for our slalom paddlers in Llandysul, Wales, the site is used for events at al divisions in the UK calendar, so an excellent venue, for fun, practice and a weekend away.
