Harefield WWR – Nov ’25

Results for our WWR

Storm Claudia threatened and after a Friday or heavy rain, we were expecting a furious weir at Harefield, but the rain kept off for the event and for a mid November day it was very mild. Water was not as powerful as we hoped, but the fun was.

Men’s Canoe Singles

Congratulations to Ivijah Campbell-Bryan for winning the Canoe Singles event, the first time he has ever raced in this class, he collects the full 2,000 points. His time was 3:21.43, he is now ranked 32nd in national C1 rankings and second J14.

In second place was Harvey Reeves from Break Out Canoe Unit, his time was 3:25.95.

Alistair Storer from Proteus Canoe Club, paddled a Stand-Up Paddle Board and recorded a time of 3:54.23.

Women’s Canoe Singles

The Ladies C1 event belonged to Proteus Canoe Club, with Kate Kent (3:03.37) taking first place and Hattie McNeill (3:25.36).

Men’s Kayak Singles

The Winner was Pete Atkinson (2:40.98) of Proteus, who just edged out Break Out’s Harvey Reeves by just 0.8 of a second.

In third place and top Shark Paddler was Ivijah Campbell Bryan, in a time of 2:50.39, he was also first J14, this adds 1,930 points to his season total and moves him up the rankings, he is now ranked second best Shark in the Country and is 44th over all in the UK with a season total of 5,093 points, he is second J14 in the UK!

Jason Reid (Proteus)was fourth (2:51.86) with The Sharks top ranked paddler Grant Underwood coming in fifth, his time was 2:54.39, he is currently ranked 23rd in the Country with 5,847 points, he earned 1,900 at this race.

Sixth place was Daniel Ahearne, from Break Out in a time of 2:55.61, followed by Tom West-Robinson from Proteus (3:12.30).

Malcolm Blowers of Meridian Canoe Club came 7th and was the first person back paddling a Wavehopper, his time was 3:18.33.

Top J12 was The Sharks Mohammed Bouhassane, who was 8th over all and claimed 1,690 points, his time was 3:22.55. He is now ranked 64th in Great Britain, third J12, with 1,306 points.

Paddling a Wavehopper and new to racing was Sam Press from Claires Court School, his time was 3:24.21, gave him 9th place. Next was William Darwent from Proteus, with a time of 3:27.03. Chris Brown (3:39.23) from Nomad Kayak Club was next.

The Three Syed Brothers, all paddling slalom boats came next with the eldest, Saalih (3:59.48), taking the family honours, he was also second J12, now ranked 67th in the UK, 4th J12 with 3,644 points . First J10 in the competition was brother Abdurrahman (4:34.96), he is now ranked 73rd with 3,222 points and is the top under-10 in the UK. The youngest of the brothers, Abdullah, was the first J8, his time was 4:40.96, all three of them were paddling slalom boats. Abdullah is now ranked 79th and top under-8, he has 3,027 points.

Many thanks to those helping to run the event, to paddlers and to parents and coaches for supporting us and the paddlers.

Canoe Doubles

The winning crew was for Breakout Canoe Unit, Daniel Ahearne and Harvey Reeves in a time of 3:25.27.

Second place was an all Shark team of Mohammed Bouhassane and Grant Underwood, whose time was 3:34.59. Followed by Ivijah Campbell-Bryan (Sharks) and Harvey Reeves (Break Out): 3:41.14.

Team Event

Protues took first and second place with times of 3:05.17 and 3:14.86 respectively.

The Hammer Heads, a Shark team were in third place in a time of 3:15.42.

Fourth place was joint team from Break Out and Sharks, their time was 3:30.08.

Team Syed, the three brothers representing The Sharks together took 4:25.17.
