Our next Legacy Event – keep the date
Full details and timetable are soon to be release and will be published here, but we can confirm The Sharks will be tuning a Wild Water Racing event at on the Legacy Loop at the Lee Valley White Centre on Saturday October 3rd 2026.
The last event we ran at the Lee Valley was a huge success, a bit thank you to everyone involved, Paddlers, staff, and volunteers. As promised we are going to be back, and with the very positive feed back we have had, we will be tweaking the event to make it even better still. It is a learning process for us as well and with your help, each event will be better than the last.
This is a long-term project, The Sharks Legacy to Wild Water Racing, our plan is to run two events a year on the Legacy, to help develop Wild Water Range as a discipline, to help paddlers develop skills by being able to practice on this first class facility, and to run ranking races.
What are we planning
A great day White Water training and practice, for all standards and abilities.
We will host introductory sessions for those new to WWR, or have not yet built the confidence to race the whole course. There while be an hour (plus) of exclusive use, so no interference from other paddlers racing past. Paddlers will all get timed runs and will be recorded as a Wavehopper Race.
We will also have an exclusive period of full uninterrupted complete runs down the whole course. Canoes and Kayaks will be available to borrow and we are very keen on people trying Canoes, both singles and doubles.
There will be a ranking River Race as the finale to the day.
And of course …
A Topo Duo Race
Lee Valley White Water Centre, Station Road, Waltham Cross, EN9 1AB.

The Course
Introductory and Wavehopper ran will start on teh lower section of the course, enabling people to build up confidence

Alongside the event will be the British Open, so you can watch some of Britains to Slalom paddlers as well as top Wild Water racing Paddlers, male a day of it.
