Elmbridge Marathon – September 2026

Another local opportunity for Shark paddlers to race, with an early afternoon start for our paddlers, ensuring easy traveling, so put it in your diary and let’s have a great Shark day out.

  • Suleiman Elawel – Racing Geoff Sanders B (2 Miles) his first Marathon Race
  • Yusuf Elawel – Racing Geoff Sanders B (2 Miles) his first Marathon Race

Where is Elmbridge?

Elmbridge Canoe Club, is in Weybridge, KT13 8LY, an easy journey from all of our sites.

There are excellent facilities at Elmbridge Canoe Club, changing rooms, showers, toilets, parking, and refreshments. For more information click here.

What Time does it start?

Briefing for Divisions 7, 8, 9 and Geoff Sanders (all of our paddlers) is at 1pm, meaning no early starts!

Racing starts at 1:30pm, we expect paddlers to be onsite by 12:20pm, ready to warm up.

Entries

Entry fees are £12 for Seniors (over 18), £10 for Juniors (Under 18) and £5 for Geoff Sanders paddlers (Under 14 and not ranked in Division 9 or above).

If you want to enter please let us know by Wednesday 23rd September, it is easier if the Club enters all of our paddlers, for more information or to enter, please either email: canoeing@thesharks.org.uk or call/text 07951 770241, we need your full name, Date of Birth, and if you are a member of Paddle UK, your membership number.

This is a ranking Hasler race for the 2027 season. For full details are available here.

Distances

Divisions 7, 8, and 9 race about 4 miles (about 6.5k)

Geoff Sanders A, B, and C race about 2 miles (just over 3k)

There are no portages in either of the distances and there are good views for spectators as the lower divisions race round an island in front of the Club building.
