Southall Sessions – Summer 2021
Returning to Paddling With the planned easing of restrictions from Monday 29th March 2021, The Sharks are proposing to restart paddling sessions at Southall form Tuesday 30th March and introduce a second weekly session on Thursdays.
Training Distances from Southall
Going North From the School Bridge All distances are in kilometres and unless stated are from the School Foot Bridge, don’t forget these can be used for walking, running (jogging), and cycling as well as canoeing.

You are not Alone, you don’t need to be Alone We have a solution, we have set up a WhatsApp group called Paddle Pal, where you can make arrangements to paddle with someone in keeping with current Covid-19 restrictions regulations.
To all our Staff The past few months have been a trying and testing time for all of us, The Sharks were up and paddling within days of the lockdown lifted at first with experienced paddlers and then gradually introducing other socially distanced sessions.
We have a Vision
And that vision is starting to become reality The Sharks have been working to create a permanent home or our own in Southall for quite sometime, we could see the potential of converting disused garages and undercroft in to a thriving Community based Canoe Club with gym and more.

We have moved, but only slightly From now on the meeting place for our sessions in Southall will be just in a slightly different place, just 200m further along the canal, but providing us with far better options so we can improve what we do.
Let Us Look Ahead The dates for National Sprint Regattas have been announced for 2021, this may seem a long time off, but it gives us something positive to look forward to at this difficult time.
Just How Fast Can You Go Canoe Sprinting is about making the boat go as fast as you can on flat water normally over distances of 200 metres or 500 metres.

Mini-Marathons at Havelock The new mini-marathons at Havelock are underway and although a small turn out today there were some good performances and we will keep them going throughout the Winter and by next Spring we will have some star paddlers racing at ranking events.

New Mini-Marathon Results
From Saturday July 27th at Havelock, Southall As part of the London National City Park Festival we ran a canoe race for paddlers attending the event, many of these were local residents, some fro our regular Tuesday Sessions.
