Harlesden Re-Launch 2024

A great day by the canal

On Saturday 30th March 2024 our partners at Harlesden Canalside joined us in a day of activities on the canal, the event attracted over 130 people, helped by a rare sunny day. A big thank you to everybody involved.

The event was part of a wider launch of activities to enable local people to enjoy the benefits of the canal, we were joined by Canal and River Trust, who also supported a two weeks of free kayaking during the Easter Holiday.

The Young Brent Foundation were there with the John Lyon narrow boat, a recent addition to the facilities at Harlesden, enabling people to experience the peace and tranquility of boat trips. Helping us all to relax down. The boat is available for groups to hire, for more information visit their website.

We were joined by local Councillors, including the Deputy Mayor of Brent, who were all very keen to get involved and to go paddling.

Queens Park Rangers Community Trust were also there to support the event and great to see them getting involved and paddling.

But the most important visitors of all were the people from the local community who came to have fun. Thank you, if you want to get involved why not get in touch; email: caneoing@thesharks.org.uk or call/text on 07951 770241.

There was much more to the day, with people just enjoying a day of activity and wellbeing by the water. Please keep in touch as we will be at Harlesden Canalside throughout the year and beyond.
