Barrow-on-Soar WWR – Sharks Racing all year round

It maybe getting late in the year and the weather a bit chilly and definitely very windy; but four Shark paddlers took to the water on Saturday in the Barrow-on-Soar Wild Water Race.

BarrowAdamDec2015Top Shark and first under-23 was Adam Stewart in a time of 16 minutes and 6 seconds; his first race of the 2015/16 season.  Last week Adam, was training with the British team development squad at Nottingham.

Rod Grundy followed Adam over the finish line in a time of 17:08 and was third Master over 50; Rod recently raced at the Hamble race in Hampshire where he came third in a time of 14:45. Rod is also top of the M50 Wavehopper rankings for 2015/16.

James Reed was first V35 in a time of 18:29; James also recently raced at the Hamble where he was first M35 in a time of 17:07.BarrowRodDec2015

Neal Underwood also took part in the race; his first race of the season and finished in a time of 18:12.

BarrowJamesDec2015Shark paddlers will be at the British team training camp between Christmas and the New Year at Grantully on Scotland, preparing for the 2016 selection event; which takes place on the River Tay at Grantully in April
