Slalom Results

A bright sunny day at what was the largest participation slalom of the year (or for many years) due to the Interclubs Championships being run as part of the event, congratulations to Stafford and Stone for winning. It would be rally good if The Sharks took part in the 2024 Interclubs Slalom.

Five paddlers made the trip on both days to Race, the current top ranked slalom paddler Khaleel Ziauddin, came 13th on Saturday, picking up 306 points, on Sunday he came 17th gaining a further 102 points. Brining his season total to 581 points, he is currently 49th in National Division 2.

Also racing in Division 2 was Neal Underwood, who came 30th on Saturday, collecting 32 points. On Sunday he moved up to 23rd and gained another 77 points, brining his season total to 290, ranking him in 68th place. He is also ranked 2nd in the Masters over 60 league.

In the Ladies Division 3 K1 event, Leah Boyle was our only paddler, she came 8th on both days, earning a total of 240 points for the weekend. This ranks her 26th in Division 3 with a total of 440 points, just 3 places and 25 points behind our top lady paddler Jasmin Uhlhorn, an exciting finish to the season has been set up.

Richard Davis raced Men’s Division 3 on both days, coming 19th (70 points) on Saturday and 21st (12 points) on Sunday. Richard is now ranked 51st with 232 points. He is however top of the national over 85s rankings!

In the Men’s Veteran K1 race Danny Dalrymple took 5th on both days , collecting a total of 234 points, ranking him 40th overall in Veterans rankings.

On teh Saturday there was also a team race, which was entered by Khaleel, Leah, and Neal, they came 21st over all and on the Sunday Neal and Leah raced C2 together, coming in 10th overall and 3rd mixed crew.
