Shepperton Sprint Wild Water Race
The Second London Open Sprint Championships took place at Shepperton on Sunday 24th May, a quick dash from Shepperton Weir to the London Side of the River, which was part of the Sharks at Shepperton Triple Challenge Weekend.

K1 Men

This year’s K1 men’s London Wild Water Racing Sprint Champion is …
Grant Underwood, retaining his title from last year, on the slightly shorter course, which he completed in 35.9 seconds. He collects 2,000 points to wards his 2026 total.
A surprise second place was V65 Neal Underwood, who took 36.83 seconds, this earns Neal 1,969 points and keeps him at the top of the V65 rankings.
Third place was J16 Ivijah Campbell-Bryan, with a time of 36.96, so close, he gets 1,965 points.

In fourth place was Shepperton’s V70 Antony Cowderoy, with a time of 38.37. Followed by V60 Malcolm Blowers from Meridian in 43.15, he was also first Wavehopper.
In sixth place and first J14, was Mohammed Bouhassane, with a time of 44.02, which was worth 1,729 points.
Salisbury’s J16 Gregory Grant came 7th with a time of 48.80. Followed by Three more Shark Paddlers, Ian Marsh in a Wavehopper (48.21), J14 Maximilian Arbuzov (55.00), and J10 Conor Kirk, both in slalom boats.
Ladies’ K1

First Place was Alley Judge from Lee Valley Paddlers, her time was 38.53. Followed by Ellie Grant from Sainsbury (43.00).
In third Place was Susan Templeton Itchen Valley Sharks, with a time of 46.71, in a slalom boat, followed by J8 Orla Kirk.
Men’s C1

A new London Champion in …
Ivijah Campbell-Bryan, the Under 16 took top spot with a time of 48.47, earning him 2,000 points.
In Second place was Grant Underwood, who was just 0.06 seconds behind, he collects 1,999 points.
Third Place was taken by Gregory Grant, the under 16 from Salisbury Canoe Club, his time was 58.90.
Mixed Canoe Doubles

Winners were mother and son crew of Ellie Grant and Gregory Grant from Salisbury, their time was 50.83.
Men’s Canoe Doubles

We have a new pair as champions this year …
The Junior 16 pairing of The Sharks’s Ivijah Cambell-Bryan and Salisbury’s Gregory Grant, with a time of 41.58.
Second place was taken by Grant Underwood and Neal Underwood from The Sharks, their time was 53.83.

Details of the London Classic Wild Water Racing Championships will be announced soon, we are looking for a tidal experience on the Thames at Thamesmead.
