A great weekend to be on the Water
One of the hottest weekends of the year and what better way to spend it than being on the water (well maybe in it), and that is what a team of Shark paddlers did!

Our top paddler in Division 2 on both days was Semir Ahmed, who has recently returned to slalom canoeing and is also now one of our coaches at Thamesmead.
Semir took 8th place on Saturday, picking up 354 points and third place on Sunday earning 455 points. He is currently ranked 33rd in National Division 2.

On Sunday we were joined by Ivijah Campbell-Bryan who collected 160 points for his 10th place finish in Division 3, he is currently ranked 10th in the Division with a combined total of 949 points from 5 event, promotion this season is looking possible.

Alistair Gifford-Moore also raced on Sunday, coming 25th and earning 10 points, currently ranked 67th after two events with a total of 81 points.
Men’s Veteran K1

Danny Dalrymple raced both Saturday and Sunday in the Veterans League, he came 9th (66 points) and 10th (222 points) respectively. He now has a total of 595 points from 5 events and is ranked 39th.
Team Event

The main event of the weekend was Saturday’s Team event, which saw a team mad up of Masters Richard Davis, Antony Cowderoy from Shepperton Slalom Canoe Club and Neal Underwood, a combined age of 221 + years; we think this is a World Record for the oldest team ever assembled, they came 13 out of 23 teams which is pretty impressive! Well done guys.
Many thanks to Viking Kayak Club for staging this event, we will be back later in the year for more fun at Cardington.
