October 2020

Was October Good?

We have seen a steady rise in new members at all our sites, so things are definably looking positive for the future, but we still face a period of uncertainty  for all of us.

We had a stunning finish to the 202 season at Osterley, we will be back next Spring and are already planning new activities, which we hope to announce soon. We now have a dedicated permanent page for Osterley which will be updated with the latest news and booking details. In recognition of the current difficulties facing families we are working to keep prices the same for 2021.

Due to the lack of competitions this year we switched to weekend paddling earlier than normal at Harefield and NW10 and we have attracted new members to both.

Since opening up again at Harefield we have seen a steady growth in new members, which bodes well for the 2021 slalom season, we can always accommodate more members to our Slalom section, you don’t need any experience or equipment, we have plenty of both. Interested? Give us a call on 07951 770241 or email: slalom@thesharks.org.uk. Sessions cost just £6 per persona and take place at 1pm on Sundays, all through the Winter, we will move to weekday evenings in April 2021, when the clocks spring forward again.

Away fro paddling lots of things are happening, the most noticeable is that we are undertaking some subtle changes to our website, to make it easier to use and to enable people to navigate a little easier. As we are growing we need to work out ways of keeping people informed about what is going on and what opportunities there are, without losing focus of our primary aim of getting and keeping people active. Ideas and feedback are always welcome.

At the time of writing this the Country is facing more uncertainty regarding Covid-19, we have to comply with Government restrictions that will becoming into affect and that is likely to affect our programme over the next few weeks, but remember that canoeing is the ideal socially distanced activity and it is out doors

Keep Safe and hopefully see you very soon.
