Building on the work of past years, we have great plans for 2025, to grow our project at Harlesden and create a first class canoe club for a first class town.
April
We will be restarting our regular evening sessions on Monday’s and Wednesdays, from 5pm, welcoming back all previous participants and inviting new paddlers to join us. If you are interested in starting something new than give us a call on 07951 770241 or drop an email to: canoeing@thesharks.org.uk.
Easter 2025

We will be hosting a race day, for youngsters to show of their talents and to raise money for charitable causes. August
Holiday Clubs linking up with other local organisations and holiday clubs. We want to work particularly close with the Queens Park Rangers Trust, Jason Roberts Foundation, affiliated groups of the Young Brent Foundation, Canal and River Trust, Old Oak park Royal Development Corporation.
September
The return of the great Harlesden Canoe Race, raising money for charities.
October
As evening paddling sessions draw to a close, we are planning an end of season race day. As well as October half-term holiday club sessions.
November
The start of our indoor land based sessions, we will meet once a week using kayaking machines (bit like rowing machines but set up for kayaking) and other land based and core exercises, not just for paddlers, but parents as well.
December
A seasonal paddle activity and an end of year awards ceremony, to congratulate and thank everyone who has taken part or helped during the year.
Challenges for 2025
- 25 new paddlers entering races.
- 25 podium places at events for paddlers.
- to participate in 25 events.
- To have paddlers participating in events at 25 different places
- To have 25 people helping us deliver these projects and supporting The Sharks and the local community
- To Raise at least £2,500 for charities, this includes individual efforts and club challenges)
- 25 people paddling at least 25 times.

We also need coaches and teachers, if you have qualifications in Paddle Sports, we currently pay £18 + per hour for qualified instructors, if you don’t have any qualifications, then we can train you and help you get the qulaifications, we will also pay for assisting teaching whilst you are training to become qualified.
