Stone March 2023

Slalom Sharks Back in Action

Four Shark paddlers made the 300 mile round trip to Stone at the weekend for the Division 3 and 4 slalom, with Liah Boyle making her slalom debut, Jasmin Uhlhorn, Madhav Gadhvi, and Neal Underwood starting their 2023 season.

Liah’s first attempt at slalom saw her win the Ladies’ K1 Division 4 event, getting all the gates on what can be quite a tricky course for a novice to canoe slalom.

Madhav was also racing in Division 4, at eight-years-old was the youngest paddler in the Men’s K1 event, only the second time he has raced and came in 6th, again getting all of the gates on a tricky course.

Moving up to the Division 3 event, Jasmin, was returning to the place she made her debut a year ago in the Ladies’ K1 event. She came 11th over all picking up just two touches and she starts her season with 94 points.

Neal raced in the Men’s Canoe Singles event, coming 8th and picking up 31 points.
