February 2024

A very wet month!

A number of days of heavy rain have disrupted The serene life of The Sharks, causing issues at our Harefield site, both on and off the water.

Competitions

Rick and Neal attended the Wild Water Race in Southampton. The race clashed with our usual monthly visit to Barrow, which was unfortunate, but it was great to see that over that day there were 100 starts in Wild Water Racing at different events.

We also hosted our re-launched mini marathons at Harefield, which was attended by Jasmin and Ivijah. The canal was only just keeping within its banks.

Sessions

Unfortunately our regular sessions were curtailed due to the conditions.

Infrastructure

The heavy rain has caused some damage to our storage facilities at Harefield and we need some help to get them ready for the Spring and Summer, so if you could lend us some time, please get in touch on 07951 770241 or email: slalom@thesharks.org.uk.

Challenges

We have published a list of challenges for 2024, we want some ideas for some more, they must include 24 (or multiple of) somewhere in the challenge.

Plans

We have been continuing with making plans for 2024 and beyond, and are pleased to announce our re-launch of Harlesden Canalside on Saturday 30th March.

We have a lot going on in 2024, please keep looking at our website for more announcements.
