250 participants over the holiday! 250 people have been paddling with The Sharks over the Easter Holidays, We had 130 attend our re-launch day at Harlesden on Saturday 30th, with and additional 145 attending other sessions!
Wild Water Racing Results The Sharks’ Grant Underwood was racing in the European Cup and British Open race at Nottingham’s National Water Sports Centre’s White Water Course at the weekend.
A great day by the canal On Saturday 30th March 2024 our partners at Harlesden Canalside joined us in a day of activities on the canal, the event attracted over 130 people, helped by a rare sunny day. A big thank you to everybody involved.
Sharks on the Tay Grant Underwood was racing Wild Water at Grandtully in March, both Sprint and Classic.
March Re-launch Day Race Liah Boyle and Ivijah Campbell-Bryan took advantage of a pre-launch day opportunity to do a timed 2k race at Harlesden on Easter Saturday.
The final in the Serries Just two paddlers for the final race of our Winter Marathon Serries, Malcolm Blowers from Meridian Canoe Club completed the 6.5 mile course in a time of 1 Hour, 16 minutes and 24.25 seconds.
Marathon Time Trial Grant Underwood was racing at the Linlithgow marathon time trails at the weekend and has improved his times throughout the serries. The trails take place each moth during the Winter on the canal just outside Edinburgh.

Saturday 30th March 2024 at 10am We are going to host a free to enter canoe/kayak/SUP race on Saturday 30th March at 10am as part of the Harlesden Canalside relaunch. Distance 3.5k, with shorter distances for younger or less experienced paddlers.
Wild Water Race from Nottingham Another rainy day in Nottingham, but some great fun to be had on the water at the Daleks section of the White Water Course at Holm Pierpont. Just one Shark paddler enjoying the fun.
Wild Water Racing Report Very high water levels at the Barrow, made for very fast times, shame only one Shark paddler was there to enjoy the race.
Sunday March 24th – 10:30 The final race in our Winter Mini-Marathon serries takes place at Harefield on Sunday 24th March, meeting at our base at Troy Lake at 10:30am and race start at 11am.
A very wet month! A number of days of heavy rain have disrupted The serene life of The Sharks, causing issues at our Harefield site, both on and off the water.
Relaunch of Harlesden Canalside Come along and have some fun on Saturday 30th March when we relaunch our sessions at Harlesden Canalside with an event to celebrate everything canal related with our partners. Free Sessions for families and much much more.
Do you want to race the Daleks? The Daleks is the lower area of the White Water Course at Nottingham’s National Water Sports Centre at Holme Pierrepoint, NG12 2LU. The Wild Water racing event takes place on Sunday 10th March.
Results of February’s Race After what was some of the heaviest rain we have had, canal levels (including the flow of the weir) were very high, but the sun came out for the race, just a shame so few paddlers.
Help us to Achieve and Achieve Yourself We are setting 24 targets for The Sharks this year, 24 things we want to achieve, all of these are dependent on how we help you to achieve. In order for anything to happen, the first thing we need to do is get people paddling.

Pool Rolling Sessions We have recently had some of our paddlers successfully learning to roll at our pool sessions at Horsenden School Pool. Well done to those who have, probably shouldn’t say look forward to seeing you use these newly acquired skills for real.
First race of the year Just one Shark paddler at the January Barrow race, which was a touch on the cold side. With teh canal frozen, paddlers had to carry the boats to the start.
Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd March The new slalom season kicks off in March and the first event for any of our paddlers is, as usual, at Stone.
20th April 2024 Who is interested in racing in Amsterdam this year? A 23 kilometre (14 miles) race, with two portages for seniors and 14k (8,5 miles) with one portage for juniors.
We are recruiting teachers and coaches for 2024. Operating at many sites in West London, and in many disciplines The Sharks offer amazing opportunities for qualified instructors to get involved in every aspect of paddlesport. And we pay very well

Saturday 3rd February The Southampton Wild Water Race is back on the calendar for 2024, it is a sprint event with good facilities, a new site and a new challenge, who is up for this? Suitable for WWR boats and slalom boats.
Saturday 20th January Keep the day free for racing at Barrow-on-Soar, lets get our biggest race team ever there for a fund day out. This race is suitable for anybody who can paddle 3k, in any boat.

Rankings for 2023 Shark Paddlers The last race of 2023, as happened and therefore we know teh final rankings of our paddlers. Well done to everyone who took part, some very impressive results, for paddlers who have not been racing for long, lets make 2024 even better.
Wild Water Racing on the Soar Just two paddlers this time out, which is a shame as the River was at a very good level for racing, but the time of year does make things difficult, hopefully we will have a few more on January 20th.

Monthly Mini-Marathons The Sharks have reintroduced their monthly Marafun events, Mini-Marathons for fun, fitness and training. Two seasons, Summer and Winter, Seasonal medals and seasonal Club Championship.
Mini-Marathons are back at Harefield December 2023, saw the return of mini-marathons to Harefield with the revamp of the Cedric Avery Winter Marafun serries.
Exercise to develop your paddling The following is from Slalom Skills, doing these at least three times a week will help your paddling skills in both kayak and canoe, whatever discipline you paddle, whether for recreation of competition.
