The Sharks - Marafun

Harefield Marafun Canoe Races

Second Tuesday of Summer Months 7:00pm

Second Saturday of Winter Months at 11am

The Race has three distances:

6.4 miles for racing boats and Wild Water Racers

3.5 miles for other boats or less experienced paddlers

1.5 miles for beginners, using any boats

The 1.5 mile race starts and finishes below the bridge at Coppermill Lock, opposite the Coy Carp and has no portages.

The other two races start and finish above the mill stream adding a bit of excitement to the more experienced paddlers and the spectators

Entries cost just £2 per person per race and can be paid on the day.

Paddlers are started in time order, with the fastest paddlers going off last, we calculate the start time on your previous race. for those who have never done a race before we either accept an estimated time or start you at the beginning of the event.

It is your elapsed time which counts, but by having the staggered start it means that everybody gets a good race, what ever standard you are at.
