Young Shark gets his teeth into competitiors

HAREFIELD Sharks canoeist Khaleel Zianddin gave an inspired performance at his first National Division Three slalom in South Wales, writes Sam Meade.

The event, held in Llandysul, saw the 14-year-old take on seniors in a men’s competition as he continues his education in the sport He came 17th in Saturday’s race and then followed that up with 19th on the Sunday to show great promise for the future.

Sharks coach, Neal Underwood, said: “Youngsters have to race against all ages in canoe slalom, so these results are very good indeed. “We now have a number of young up and coming talent at The Sharks, but we are always on the lookout for more. “I think as the season goes on we will be hearing a lot more about khaleel.”
