No More Ranking Events This Year Sadly, but understandably the British Canoeing’s Slalom Committee has announced that there will be no more ranking events staged in 2020, due to Covid-19.

March 2020

A Very Strange Month March 2020 is a month very few of us will ever forget, but not everything was bad, in fact the start was very good.

Shepperton Results March 2020

Great Start for Shark Paddlers Shark paddlers got off to a good start at Shepperton Division 2 Slalom, picking up a number of medals over the two days of racing.

Good Luck at Shepperton and Stone

Our Slalom Season Starts And we have paddlers racing at two events next weekend on Saturday 14th and Sunday 15th March and we have coaches at both events supporting our paddlers.

February 2020

The Month The Rain Came. The weather in February was disruptive to our canoeing programme, but we need to have some perspective before we complain and think of the people whose lives have really been devastated by the storms.

Half-Term Paddling Sessions

School Holiday Sessions We will be adding in two extra sessions for paddlers at The Sharks, one at Southall and one at Shepperton for slalom paddlers. On Wednesday 19th February we will host a session at Shepperton Weir at 1pm, this is suitable for paddlers who have attended Slalom Sessions at Harefield. This as two Half-Term Paddling Sessions

Shepperton Division 2 Slalom

Saturday, March 14th & Sunday, March 15th. Our friends and close colleagues at Shepperton Slalom Canoe Club are hosting a Division 2 slalom at Shepperton Weir on Saturday 14th march and on Sunday 15th March.

Slalom Bib Numbers for 2020

Let’s get ready for Slalom 2020 The Slalom calendar and bib numbers for 2020 have been published and are available on the Canoe Slalom Website. In total we have 17 nationally ranked paddlers and a number of new paddlers who we expect to get promoted early on in the season.

November 2019

A very wet month November started with Shepperton Slalom, the last competition The Sharks entered this year and for teh first time in a while the water was a bit more challenging than it has been on the Thames.

Shepperton November Slalom

Report and Results Another wet weekend, but this did give some decent water for the slalom, which was challenging. The last slalom of the season and was not going to see any promotions, but the chance to vie for Top Shark paddler and to get a good bib number for next season.
