Sepperton Report – September 2017

The Sharks Slalom at Shepperton

This year The Sharks have hosted two national ranking slaloms, the first at Harefield in August , which drew our biggest numbers yet and saw three Shark paddlers promoted to division 3. Last weekend we hosted a division 3 and 4 event at Shepperton Weir, using the fantastic facilities of Shepperton Slalom Canoe Club, whom we wish to thank, without their support we would not have been able to run any of our slaloms.

The numbers at the event were lower than we hoped for but it was a great event (sorry we have no pictures, one of the problems of being the organising club is you don’t get to see much of the action). There were three Shark paddlers taking part in the event:

On Saturday James Read was paddling in the division 3 C1 class and came 2nd. Khaleel Zainndin came 5th in the Men’s Division 3 K1 and Jacob Simpson 7th. On Sunday, Jacob came 6th and Khaleel 7th. Jacob and Khaleel also did a C2 run in division 4 and came 3rd, Khaleel also came second in the division 4 C1 event.
