New Paddlers Racing Marathon

We had four paddlers taking part in the Geoff Saunders race at Oxford Falcon’s Hassler Marathon, three completely new to Marathon.

Anaya Dhillon was leading the way, following her podium finish at Elmbridge previously, she again took second place again (first girl) completing the 4k course in a time of 22 minutes in the GS Division c

We also had three paddlers new to Marathon; racing in Geoff Division B was Saalih Syed, who completed the race in 23 minutes and 13 seconds, and coming 6th.

Abdurraham Syed came 5th in GS C division in a time of 26:41, whilst eight-year-old Abdullah Syed came 6th with his time of 28:04.

Also racing was our coach Michael Walter, who was racing in Division 4 Doubles (8 miles), his partner was Bob Edmond-Seal, they both race for Oxford Falcons, they came 4th in a time of 56:34.

Great days racing well done to all paddlers and many thanks to our coaches and support team as well as parents for bringing the paddlers along. Many thanks to Oxford Falcon Canoe Club for hosting this event, it is a fantastic race at a great location, we will be back and hopefully there will be even more Sharks taking place.
