Try some thing different?
As you would expect with The Sharks we are going to do things slightly differently, be innovative, to give paddlers the chance to try different things. Although the event is only on Sunday, we will also be there on Saturday 8th October for practice and training. Camping will be available for those who wish to stay over. Enter here.
Fun slalom racing for all the family from beginners to champions hosted by The Sharks Canoe Club.
100 second course on modest white-water, ‘direct’ routes to challenge the best and choice of routes achievable for first time racers.
Division 4 and Open events in all classes, plus:
Canoe-Kayak Combined: your best K1 score, plus your best C1 score, plus your best C2 score. Enter each class as normal (div 4 or Open as appropriate); all paddlers entered in K1, C1 and C2 then automatically included for the Canoe-Kayak Combined challenge. Unlimited C2 pairings, partner provided if needed (scratch entries on the day), your best C2 score used for your Combined total. A perpetual Trophy will be awarded for the greatest effort shown in completing the Canoe-Kayak Combined Challenge.
Saturday 8/10/22 Practice and Free Coaching
Morning – free practice once final course adjustments set
Afternoon – free coaching, both full run practice, unlimited runs, plus small group coaching on key moves
Sunday 9/10/22 Racing
Morning – kayaks full runs practice, slalom race runs 1 & 2
Afternoon – canoes full runs practice, slalom race runs 1 & 2,
Free camping, with water tap and portaloo. Pub on site.
Kayak and Canoeing events will be held separately, so people can try both, without the stress and rush of having to swap boats quickly. Kayaks in the morning and Canoes in teh afternoon.
