The Course

A 3 kilometre race, around the Barrow loop of the River Soar, it is a nice flowing stream, no rocks, so ideal for those new to River Racing, but also an excellent race for the more experienced paddler.
The race is a time trial format, meaning you are chasing the paddler in front, but also being chased by the paddler behind.
Check out our last race at the Barrow in March. or the results from last October’s race.
Where
We meet at the Moorings Pub in Barrow-on-Soar, LE12 8PN at 10am, for a briefing at 10:15, range starts at 11am. The start is a short (warm up) paddle along the canal, you portage to the River and race back to the Pub.

It is about 110 miles from our west London sites and about 140 miles from Thamesmead, an easy journey for a day of fun and activity.
After the race we usually go for a meal and have some social time together, it is a great opportunity for people to get to know each other and to share stories.
