Granted

Funders and Supporters

We would like to thank the following organisations for their support throughout the year(s).

The Sharks are a not-for-profit organisation, that strives to ensure that cost is never a barrier to participation. In order to achieve this and invest in the future we seek funding and partnership working to ensure we can keep the cost of taking part in sport as low as possible.

We are a fully professional Club, we pay our staff and coaches to ensure we get the best people available to deliver high quality programmes to support our athletes, whether they are beginners or experienced.

All of our programmes are sustainable, we provide all the equipment requires at whatever stage you are participating and this involves investment.

We have recently received funding from Active Thames, part of the Port of London Authority. This money will help us to provide more affordable sessions at our Thamesmead site, as well as paying to train more staff, which in turn will mean we can run more sessions.

Our Partnership with Peabody Housing Trust has enabled us to open the very exciting projects at Thamesmead, as well as the Boat House and the Boating Lake at Southmere, we will soon be opening an Open Water Swimming facility at Birchmere.

Peabody have also helped with funding of our very successful holiday programme at Southmere in the Autumn half-term.

KSP London, has been sponsoring our afterschool project with Harlesden Primary School.

Murphy’s have been supporting our Great Harlesden Charity Race for the past two years (winning it on both occasions).

in 2025, they helped us build the canoe store at Harefield, laying the concrete base and providing materials for the construction.

We are affiliated to the Sport’s governing body, it enables to be involved in the competitive disciplines, provides us with insurance and they support us in running events. They have also provided funding to run some of our races this year including The Southall Super Sprints.

We encourage all our member to also join Paddle UK.

In addition to those listed above, all of whom have provided funds to The Sharks during 2025 we have many partners we work with to provide opportunities for all ages. If you are interested in working with The Sharks, please get in touch by calling/texting 07951 770241 or by email: canoeing@thesharks.org.uk. Maybe your company would like to sponsor one of our programmes, or trophies? Or, maybe we can work in partnership to get more people active.
