Hurley Marathon 2025

A Sharkingly Great Day

A small team of Sharks raced at Hurley, somewhat depleted by holidays and illness, but it was a great day for those who took to the Thames.

Making his debut for The Sharks was Ryan O’Neill, racing in division 9 as an under 16, he came 14th in a time of 47 minutes and 37 seconds for the 8k course.

Ryan originally started through paddling with us when he was at Harlesden Primary School, in the after school club.

Ivijah Campbell-Bryan has recently been promoted to Division 8, his time was 39:27, he came 12th, just 1 second from 11th, shave a minute off and he would have moved up to 6th and be looking at another promotion! An amazing effort for the 14-year-old paddler, who again started through our partnership with Harlesden Primary School.

Also racing Marathon for the first time was 7-year-old Kiyan Zand Lashani, the youngest paddler of the day. He came 4th in the Geoff Saunders C race, completing the 4k in a time of 41:59.

Racing for the second time in Geoff Saunders B was Saahil Sayed, he came 5th completing the 4k in a time of 27:54.

Racing together for the first time were Grant Underwood and Peter Skinner, ranked in Division 3, they had to do 16k with portages, there time was 1:36:36, great effort for a first time together.

Michael Walter was racing with Bob Edmond-Seal, in Division 4 K2m their time was 1:05:04 for the 12k course, giving them a third place finish. Well done guys.

A great days racing and thanks to everyone who supported our paddlers and to Bisham Paddle Sports Club for hosting the event.
