2023 Final Slalom Rankings
How many paddlers did we have? October’s Stone Slalom brings to the end another Slalom Season and time to look at the final rankings of Shark Paddlers.
Our latest Slalomist Eleven-year-old Ivijah Campbell-Bryan has become our latest paddler to enter a ranking slalom, racing in Division 4 Men’s K1, where he came 5th over all.
Barrow Results – Oct ’23
Wild Water Racing is back After a Summer hiatus, we were back racing at the Barrow on Saturday, picking up exactly where we left off. High water levels meaning a different course and the paddlers racing were Liah Boyle and Neal Underwood.

Vintage Slalom 2023
What a great event! On Saturday 23rd September The Sharks hosted a Vintage (1985 rules) Slalom at the Lee Valley, along side the World Championships and it was a great day, old boats and some slightly older people having fun.

Cardington – September ’23
Slalom Results A bright sunny day at what was the largest participation slalom of the year (or for many years) due to the Interclubs Championships being run as part of the event, congratulations to Stafford and Stone for winning. It would be rally good if The Sharks took part in the 2024 Interclubs Slalom.
Rick at HPP
Division one results Congratulations to Rick Moore, taking 5th spot in the Veterans K1 event at Holme Pierrepont. he is now ranked fifth in the National Rankings for Veteran Men.
Rick Moore winning again At Ironbridge Rick Moore was taking gold in the Veterans K1 event on both Saturday and Sunday. He is currently 6th in the national rankings with 2,734 points.
July Shepperton Results
Two days of racing at Shepperton Slalom proved good for Shark Paddlers in Division 3 and C2.
Holy Island Race
A new kind of challenge! On Saturday Grant Underwood and Neal Underwood, undertook a new kind of challenge; to race 11k round Holy Island, just of the coast of the Island of Arran, and it was great fun.
Well Done Guys
Pier to Pier Swim done! Congratulations to Grant Underwood and Neal Underwood on completing the Bournemouth to Boscombe Pier to Pier Swim at the weekend. The swim was a charity event for the British Heart Foundation. If you would like to donate to their fundraising effort, please click here.

Liah Promoted in Slalom
Cardington Division 2, 3, & 4 Results. Liah Boyle got her well earned promotion to National Division 3 Ladies’ in K1 Slalom at Cardington Slalom.

Another Rick More Podium Finish Rick Moore was our only paddler at the recent Division 2 Slalom, held on teh legacy loop at Lee Valley, but as always he was on the podium both days.

Harefield Slalom Results – 23
Another fun event at Harefield The Sharks Division 4 and Open slalom at Harefield was a great event , but would have benefitted form a few more paddlers. Many thanks to those who did paddle, and especially to those who helped run the event.
Llandysul April Results
Podium finishes for Rick Rick Moore managed two third place finishes in two days in the veterans event at Llandysul Division 1 slalom.
Shepperton March 2023
Rick Racing Rick Moore, was racing in the Veterans K1 Men’s at Shepperton Division 1 and 2 Slalom at the weekend, making his second start and it is only halfway through March! Where are the rest of you?
Stone March 2023
Slalom Sharks Back in Action Four Shark paddlers made the 300 mile round trip to Stone at the weekend for the Division 3 and 4 slalom, with Liah Boyle making her slalom debut, Jasmin Uhlhorn, Madhav Gadhvi, and Neal Underwood starting their 2023 season.
Symonds Yat March 2023
Rick off to a flying start Our Slalom Coach Rick Moore, started the 2023, veterans season with a third place finish at Symonds Yat.
Barrow March 2023
Final Barrow Race of the Series Liah Boyle and Neal Underwood, were there on a very strange day, the sun was out, there was snow in the fields and the river was in flood!
Barrow February 23
Another Fine Race Just two Shark paddlers at this race, but what great results they had. Liah Boyle winning the under 16s and Neal Underwood winning the over 60s!
Melksham WWR – February 23
Super Sharks! A great day of racing and fun at the Melksham Wild Water Race, just four paddlers, but, what a four the were!
December – Barrow – 2022
New WWR paddlers The Sharks were back racing at the Barrow-upon-Soar race in December and added another three paddlers to our team. Another fun day out, looking forward to January’s race.
Wild Water Racing A small team traveled to the Barrow-upon-Soar Race on Saturday, the first time The Sharks have raced Wild Water for a while, too long. Hopefully this marks the beginning of our return and again become one of the Country’s top clubs.

A great event on our home waters The Harefield 2022 Division 4 event proved to be a great success, attracting large numbers and as you would expect from The Sharks, doing things slightly differently.

Langham Farm September 2022
Results The Sharks were again in action at Langham Farm, in Wiltshire, on the weekend of September 17th and 18th. Well done to all those who took part and thanks to Frome Canoe Club for hosting the event.
Cardington – September 22
Another Great Shark Weekend Cardington Slalom is proving to be a successful place for Shark paddlers, as we get more medals and another three promotions!
Rick on the Tay Our Slalom Coach Rick Moore has been tackling the Scottish waters of the River Tay at Grandtully, one of Britain’s best Wild Water sites, and gained another rostrum finish.
Shepperton July Results
And another promotion! Well done to Hudayfa Hadjali on coming second in his debut event and getting promoted to National Division 3, congratulations also to Jaafar El Haddad who came third (1st under 12) and Ubayda Hadjali (5th), both of whom were making their slalom debut.
