Athlete Rod is an experienced paddler, who started to paddle for The Sharks at the Barrow Race in November 2023.
Athlete Twelve-years old and the latest Shark to enter a national slalom event, Ivijah raced Men’s Division 4 K1 at Stone where he came 5th at the last slalom of the season. He is also now ranked in Wild Water Racing, having raced at Barrow in November.
Coach and Athlete Neal is our lead Wild Water Racing Coach, although he also coaches Marathon and Sprint. Like most of our coaches, Neal has a background in competitive canoeing and does still race.
Athlete Ranked 11th in the UK Ladies K1 Wild Water Racing and second Under 16. She is also The Sharks second highest ranked Ladies’ slalom paddler, having come 22nd in Ladies Division 3 K1 with 503 points from just 4 events. She is also ranked 94th under 16 in the UK.
Athlete Alistair made his Slalom Debut for The Sharks at Langham Farm in April 2023, coming 11th in his first event. He has now added Wild Water Racing to his competitions racing at Barrow-on-Soar, in November 2023.
Athlete Jasmin is our top ranked Lady in Slalom for the second year running coming 19th in Ladies’ K1 Division 3, moving up from her 22nd place last year.
Athlete Ally is ranked 61st in Ladies’ K1 Wild Water Racing, she has recently returned to racing at the Barrow Race, after a break; in past she has been a member of the GB Wild Water Racing Team.
Athlete Madhav became our youngest paddler when the J8 raced at Harefield in October 2022. He came 14th in his first event. He also won Shepperton Division 4 Men’s K1. He raced Stone in 2023.
Another of our older generation of paddlers, who races with the Itchen Valley Shark contingent. Danny finished 2023 ranked 45th in the Veterans Men’s K1 League with 787 points
Athlete Richard Davis has a long history of racing in the UK and beyond, now in his eighties (yes he is over 85, so no excuses anybody else), he is still competing in National Division 3 Slalom, where is ranked 54th and top Master over 85.He collected 323 points from 5 races.
Athlete and Race Organiser A paddler with a lot of experience now in Division 3 slalom, races Wild Water and Marathon, and organises our Southern Serries Wild Water Races, based in Hampshire.
Athlete Managing only to race (Shepperton) once this year Aditya Ravichander picked up 56 points at Shepperton and is ranked 98th in Division 3 in Men’s Division 3 K1 and 95th Junior 14 in the UK.
Athlete Kurtis only managed to get to one event in 2023, Langham Farm, where he collected 54 points, ranking him 101st in Men’s Division 3 K1.
Athlete and Slalom Coach at Harefield Rick leads our Slalom Team based at Harefield, he is a very experienced paddler and still competes, racing Veteran K1 Men’s Slalom and was the runner up in the 2021 this year he came 7th with 2,869 points. and he came 11th in C1, with 1,61 points.
Athlete Ranked in 37th place in National Division 3 Ladies Slalom K1, Fleur is also races Wild Water.
Athlete Rowena made her slalom debut at Langham Farm in April this year, taking second place in the Ladies K1 Division 4 event. Published 4th November 2023
Athlete Ten Year Old Arron Lomas joined our ranks of competitive paddlers when her raced at our own Harefield Slalom in April this year. He came 5th overall and second J10.
Athlete For the third year running Khaleel is ranked as The Sharks top Slalom paddler.
Athlete and Coach Grant is The Sharks own home grown international talent, having represented Great Britain. Been out of circulation for a while, but returned to action at the Barrow-Upon-Soar race and came 12th, currently ranked 146th.
Athlete The lastest addition to our Wild Water Racing Team, David completed his first race at the Barrow-Upon-Soar and came 14th, he joins the National Rankings in 164th place.
Athlete Tasmeen has now joined our Wild Water Racing Team, entering her first race at Barrow-up-on-Soar and taking 11th place, giving her a National Ranking of 93rd.
Teacher, Coach, Athlete Aaron is currently ranked in Division 2 for Slalom Men’s K1, he finished 2022 ranked is currently 56th with 684 points from just 3 events. His last event of the season was a 15th place finish at Lee Valley. He is the second highest ranked Shark paddler
Athlete and Teacher Gaining promotion to National Division 3 on his debut event at Shepperton. Hudayfa had a flying start in Division 3 taking a second and first place finish at Cardington, followed by a 3rd & 2nd at the Nene. Division 2 beckons! He finishes 2024 in 4th place
Athlete Back in action after the Pandemic at Langham Farm Mel has 232 points in National Division 3 Ladies’ K1.This was her only event and finishes the season ranked 44th.
Teacher Alex is still a current paddler in Slalom Division 1 K1 Men and also paddles C1, he has joined our teaching team, to help bring on the next generation of paddlers.
Athlete Our most recent addition to our competitive team, Lilian Moore, completes the whole set for the Moore family, making her debut in Ladies’ K1 Slalom Division 4 at Langham Farm, coming 5th over all and third J12.
Athlete One of our Marathon racing team, based at Southall, Nicole started through our partnership with Featherstone Primary School. Most recently she was a finalist in the Sprint event at the London Youth Games.
Athlete Victoria became our youngest Shark competitor when she raced in canoe Doubles with her dad and Slalom Coach, Rick Moore at the Nene in April 2022.
Bankside Support Jason is one of our team leaders at Osterley on the bank, although he does paddle occasionally get on the water.
Athlete and Assistant Teacher Making her competitive debut at the London Youth Games, representing the London Borough of Brent.
Bankside Support Danni manages and provides Bankside support at our Osterley Park sessions. She can also paddle a bit, as it appears, so can her mum.
