Harefield Working Party – Sunday 13th

Making Harefield Great Again

On Sunday 13th December, we are organising a working party at 11am  to do some remedial work on the slalom site to get it back up to the standard it was and beyond.

We need quality facilities if we are to develop quality paddlers, so please do come along and help improve your facilities.

We will meet in the Coy Carp Car Park at 11am, please note any work we do will need to be within strict Covid-19 restrictions regarding social distancing etcetera. We will do a Risk Assessment on the day to ensure that it matches what we are able to do in the conditions. We will expect people to wear bunchy aids whilst working on the island or other parts of the canal.

We will work out a plan on the day, depending on people and conditions, but our first intention is to cut back some of the vegetation on the island and far bank, so that we can get easier access to the lines and gates, so please bring appropriate clothing, if you have some gardening gloves and tools that would be extra helpful.

Normally we would provide refreshments for working parties, but due to current restrictions, we cannot communally go in the Coy Carp, so it will be a bit difficult, we therefore ask on this occasion you bring you own food and drink.

Anybody who runs up and helps will get a free training session at 1pm.

Once we have completed this working party we will take a look at what needs to be done and organise another for January, so that we can get the facilities up to scratch for the new year and new season. Let us make 2021 a great year.
