Congratulations Jacob

Promotion to Division 2 Slalom

Jacob Simpson has won promotion to National Division Slalom Division 2 at the last event 0f the 2018 season, which took place on the River Dart in Devon at the weekend.

Jacob at the Nene

Despite leaving it late in the year, Jacob has had an impressive season as his run on Sunday was only the sixth event of the season, having missed many events earlier in the year and had others cancelled to to extreme weather.

He raced on Saturday and came third in Men’s Division 3 K1 and second Junior 16,  just minding out, but on Sunday he moved up to second place (2nd J16) and collected enough points (you need 1070 from 5 events – with the winner of each event getting 250).

Well done Jacob.

James Read was also on action at the Dart on both days, racing in Men’s Division 2 k1, where he came 8th on Saturday and 6th on Sunday. He also raced in Men’s Division 3 C1 and came 1st on both days. James finishes the season ranked 2nd in Men’s C1 Division 3 and 53rd in Men’s Division 2 K1.
