Barrow Wild Water Races

Saturdays Jan 15th, Feb 5th, & Mar 5th

Why not have a fun day out in Barrow on Soar, near Loughborough, paddle a different river, get some new experience? Suitable for all standards and all boats.

The race is 3k (about 1.8 miles). starting below a weir and meanders through the Leicestershire countryside and finishes where you got in. There are no rocks or dangers, just a nice flowing stream with a few weeds to avoid (and they don’t hurt if you hit them).

You get in at the Lock and paddle to the weir as a warm up and then portage the Lock for the race start.

If you are interested in gong or want more information, contact Neal Underwood on 07951 770241 or email: neal@thesharks.org.uk. Cost of entry is £5 per person. You can enter any of them, you don’t have to do them all.

Apart from being fun, they are a great introduction to racing, in a nice friendly environment, WWR is also good motivation and training for all other disciplines.

Barrow is about a 2 hour drive from West London, less than 100 miles. SatNav users the postcode is LE12 8PN.
