Shark Slalom Page

Welcome to the new Shark Slalom Page, here we will be discussing our slalom programme, events we are attending, organising and paddlers we are supporting.

This year we have been to Shepperton Division 2 slalom and we have supported paddlers from Ealing and Hounslow at the London Youth Games.

We are intending to be at Ironbridge division 2 slalom on the weekend or 25th and 26th June, where Grant Underwood and Neal Underwood will be paddling. There are spaces in the car if anybody is interested.

On Sunday 10th July we are proposing to go to Orton Mere Slalom, near Peterborough. This is a division 3 and division 4 (entry level) slalom. more details can be found on our poster.

Over the next few months we are hoping to organise a number of short-course entry level (division 4) slaloms within close proximity of the M25. The first of these is likely to be in Ware, Hertfordshire. More details will be available soon.

Thursday Evenings are Slalom Training

Starting from Thursday July 14^th, Thursday evenings will be slalom training at Harefield (Coy Carp).

Cost of session is £4.00; if you attended second and subsequent Shark sessions in any one week the charge is £2.00 for the additional sessions..

Session will include;

Improving paddling technique for slalom,

Dealing with moving and rough water,

Gate work,

Turns etc,

Fitness training,

Competition preparation,

Warm ups, stretches etc.

There will be times and mini-competitions.

We are hoping to be able to offer this programme throughout the winter, but it does depend on sorting out flood lighting at Harefield.
